If Trump can get Israel to release those militants, then I'd say he does indeed deserve the Nobel Prize he craves.
(At least as much as anybody does. The Peace Prize has a really embarrassing history. And I include Barack Obama in that history, a President I admire very much but who did not deserve a prize for not-being-George-Bush.)
I'm afraid that this seems like a situation where any compromise will leave both sides utterly furious, but at least not killing each other any more. October 7 was beyond horrific; Israel's response has managed to be even more barbaric. (And I say that despite also believing that Hamas is deliberately using its own population as a human shield.) There is no solution that both sides will not consider wildly unjust. And they'll be right.
The US President has no leverage on Hamas, but some on Israel. If he can use that leverage to get Netanyahu to do the unthinkable -- release some absolute monsters -- in exchange for peace, it would be a significant feat.
TFA suggests that Hamas doesn't believe that this is is possible, and is using this as a tactic to prolong the war. That meant it's a real opportunity for the President -- if he can call them on it, and not immediately look like an idiot by having the process fall through anyway. Good luck.
How about Hamas responsibility be included here too?
RE "...carrying out a genocide for the last two years..."
Hamas - Illegally building military assets beneath civilian infrastructure such as hospitals and schools. Sacrificing the Gaza people? Such military installations are valid targets according to laws of warfare - is my understanding?
Hamas even manipulate their Gaza people to achieve their aims.
Have you got proof that they have military assets beneath civilian infra? Evidence that is not Israeli supplied would be useful. So far I've only seen Israeli propaganda that hasn't been verified by a third party.
Sounds like you haven't done much research besides taking Israeli propaganda at face value. The difference is Hamas has called for independent investigation on Oct 7 and how their supposed military instalments in civilian areas. Israel...has done the exact opposite and closed off any access to third parties.

For the record, the reason why Israeli reporting is discounted comes down to the IDF's editorial right to reject any article for any reason: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_Military_Censor
We need third-party accounting if Israel is unwilling to publish any news that grievously contradicts their military.
