Yep. Same thing happened in Germany. Hitler initially gained the support of the business community who saw a right wing ally and thought he would just mobilize his power against Labor Rights on their behalf, but also assumed he could be controlled by them long term. They were wrong.
Being a CEO of a large corporation is inherently an authoritarian position. Not surprising that they'd be the first in line to lick the boots of an authoritarian fascist government.
