I think this is basically a publicity stunt. Certainly once anyone realizes $5000 in scholarship is easily obtainable by modding an offline game it just becomes a gimme grift. The table appears to be AI generated in that there are just objectively wrong numbers about how many things are in certain games I'm familiar with, which even the most cursory research used to write the table would have revealed. Many of them seem to make gross errors in understanding whether something is legitimately challenging or simply lengthy (or even trivial but merely uncommon).
